Defination of blog :- A Blog ( A shortened version of "weblog") is a online journal diplaying information in reverse chronological order , with the latest posts appearing first at the top . It is a platform where a writer or group of writers share their views on an individual subject . 

Blogs And Websites ? 

Do you know the difference between blogs and websites ? If not then lets have a look on it . 

Main Difference :- 

Blog is informal it is written to give our own views on something and basically it is like our diary and in it writer or group of writers discuss about any subject .  

Blog owners regularly post something .

        Website is used for formal and professional purposes . A Company creates websites to get people known about their products and their brand , etc . 

Website owners rarely update their content on it . 

What is Blogging ?  

In simple words , The act of writing a blog is called as blogging . So if you are writing a blog it means you are blogging . 

Blogging is an interactive activity . Readers can add comments to the post and other persons can respond  and a conversation continues . Blogs can provide up to date news , technical information , political opinions , advice healthh tips , sports and much more . 

Who is a Blogger ? 

In Simple Words A blogger is someone who blogs or writes content for a blog . Bloggers share their opinions on different topics which audience can read and comment on it . 

Some basic types of blogs :- 

  Personal blog :- This is a most common an a popular type of blog on internet . Personal blog encompasses personal views on any chosen subject like health , politics , travel , etc .

  Company blog :- This category is used by the professionals or companies to let their customers or clients know about their upcoming products and the progress being made on some projects . 

  Non - profit blog :- This category incorporates the non - profit organisations which use blogging to spread awareness and raise money for their cause . 

  Politics blog :-The active members of this category are the political parties or members of parliament who use blogging to remain connected with their constituencies . 

  News and Views blog :- This type of blog is normally used by the journalists to post factual stories and views about the latest events . 

  Microblog :-This is another category of blogs that comprise of short entries or updates about the routine tasks of an individual or a company . It is mainly used to keep friends , colleagues , and customers updated as the entries become a running commentary about one's life and interests . 

Do you know :- Twitter is a microblog where one can post 280- characters long messages called "tweets" at a time . 

Advantages/Disadvantages Of Blogging :- 

Advantages :- 

- Enables you to pen down  your thoughts on anything that intrests you 

- There is no time constrait in blogging . You are your own boss . You can practically work while vacationing 

- No office setup is required.You can work from anywhere around the world . All you need is a computer/smartphone and an internet connection to post your blog . 

- It is easy to set up as one does not require technical knowledge and is quick to add and update new posts. People can

write comments on your blog which can prove to be motivational for you.

- Provides collaborative learning environment and helps learners develop social skills about group consensus and compromise. Students are being encouraged to become authors and improve their writing and reading skills.

Disadvantages :-

- Recognition of your talent can be a slow process, and initially, the traffic can be quite low for your blog, so your

approach should be optimistic.

- While writing, you need to be thoughtful and unbiased; otherwise, it may have negative impact on the readers.

- People can sometimes prove to be rude in their comments which may disappoint you.

- You need to be very active and disciplined as a blogger so that people do not lose interest.

- Blogs, especially personal blogs, are not considered to be reliable.
